NCA AWARDS OCTOBER 2005
NATIONAL THREE SOUTH
COACH of the MONTH
Owen Cobbe – Havant
The NCA Coach of the Month Award for October in National Three South goes to Owen Cobbe the player/coach at Havant.
Owen is director of rugby at Portsmouth Grammar School, and was a fulltime player for 10 years with London Irish and Connacht where he served under both Clive Woodward and Warren Gatland, before becoming a fulltime DOR with the Wanderers club in Dublin.
Moving back into education he joined HRFC as a player 3 seasons ago, and masterminded the clubs return to the National league, and subsequent 7th spot last season.
DOR Adam King Said "We had a very successful October, and this award is a testament to Owen Cobbe and his coaching team which consists of Ian Calder as backs coach the former Worcester, and Basingstoke coach, and Simon Morgan as forwards coach. Owen is an extremely professional and passionate coach, and has the respect of all the playing staff at HRFC which is a key factor in our performances having been raised in October.
